I have a 2.4 GHz Core i5 MBP (mid 2010) w/8 GB RAM, running 10.7.2 and the latest Mail (Version 5.1 (1251/1251.1)). Using a .Mac address with iCloud.

3 or 4 times a day, as I am composing an email, the app will suddenly quit.
Fortunately, because of the Resume feature, I can re-open my email from the drafts folder and lose, at most, 4 or 5 words, but still it is a pain.

I've looked in the forums here and on the Apple Support site and see no one else complaining about this.

I've Repaired Disk Permissions, rebuilt the directory using Disk Warrior, run Verify Disk and I don't remember what else.

I do have a test user, but since this is an intermittent problem, I don't see how that would help.

Any suggestions would be welcome and I'd love to know if anyone else is having this issue.

TIA,
Chris

I haven't experienced anything similar to what you describe, but since 10.7.2, the Mail app is freezing a lot and occasionally stops the computer from shutting down.
