Veteran Mac user here, with the oddest thing I’ve seen in years.

I have four “groups” of email accounts loaded into Mail.app, from two different sources (Comcast for one bunch, my web host for the other bunches associated with three different URLs). All accounts are set to automatically check for messages every minute. Until a few days ago, that worked correctly, more or less. The IMAP accounts seem to have some hiccup or another every few weeks.

This one’s unique, though, in that it only applies to one of the six IMAP email boxes sharing a single URL.

Suddenly, that email box refuses to check for mail. It’s my main business account-—naturally-—which makes this an urgent matter.

When I check webmail, there are new messages. When I click on “Get Mail” or wait for the automated “Get Mail” process to occur, every other email account on my computer checks for messages...except that one.

Ironically, because I’m paranoid deep down when it comes to this IMAP stuff, there’s also a Rule instructing Mail to copy messages sent to that account into a second folder on my computer. Oddly, copies of the new messages do arrive there...but not in the Inbox for that account.

If I turn the rule off, nothing downloads into that account at all. Stuff just sits on the server.

When a “Get Mail” command occurs (manually or automatically), this mailbox doesn’t even garner a spinning wheel like the others when they check for messages. Just sits there like it’s dead.

All my preference settings are correct...and yes, the boxes are selected to check mail in this account:

True, I’m lucky the “copy” rule is in effect, so the at least show up somewhere; still, really need them to load in the Inbox since the “On My Mac” doesn’t provide IMAP functionality (while on the road, that’s critically important).

Has anyone seen anything like this before? The webhost says they have nothing to do with this, since it’s “all Mac’s fault.”
