Hi. I am running 10.5.6 and use Mail.app on IMAP for all my email and for sending connecting to my work computer's SMTP server running the Microsoft "sendmail". (Yes, it's as bad as it sounds.)
I have a strange problem that sometimes messages will send right away and appear in my Sent mail folder, but later that day with same computer, same location, the message to the same individual will stall. In place of the Sent mail folder I will have "Sending" with a pinwheel for hours, and if I quit I lose the messages.
I don't expect help diagnosing (though that would be nice) because I suspect it's at least partly the SMTP server's fault. I do want to know: where does Mail.app store its outgoing messages? There's no Outgoing Mail folder visible within Mail, and when I look in ~/Library/Mail I don't see anything that looks likely.
I'd like to know where the outgoing messages are stored so that I can get them back when Mail is hanging and try sending them another way.
Also, if anyone has any ideas why this happens, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks!
