Mail App Shortcuts for filing or moving messages

Recently switched from PC to Mac. Was using Thunderbird in which it was easy to file messages in folders using keystrokes. Is there any way to do this with the Apple Mail App? I'm trying to use the mouse as little as possible. Thanks for any help!

I found a plugin called MsgFiler to be very helpful with keyboard based filing:

There is also Mail act on

You have to create rules first though and you invoke them by pressing a key sequence of your choice
