Any reason to switch to Mail.App if you are an Exchange user? Can't switch my mail service... outlook is ugly and high energy usage...

why not try apple mail, it's right there (just quit outlook for the moment). if you like it, make it your mail program. if not....

The only issue I have experienced with Exchange accounts in Apples applications is calendar sharing. Getting other peoples calendars can be a big headache, it ended up crashing a Mac at my work, by flodding the RAM.

But if it is for sending and receiving mails and dealing with your own calendar, it works just fine. I use it on my Mac every day.

I have found it much smoother with exchange than mail. Don't rush to go for the early user experience though as there are sometimes a few glitches along the way although email discussion with the Microsoft team is generally a good experience that Apple could learn from.

I really like Outlook but at this time I am still using MS Office H&B for Mac 2011. I also have used Outlook 2016 for Windows which has been ok. I read recently that MS will be releasing Office 2019 sometime this year in 2018 so you might want to wait to see how the new MS Office pans out before deciding on a full move to the Apple mail app. I personally didn't like the look, the feel and the features of the mail app compared to Outlook when I first tried it years ago with Lion and Mavericks. I also haven't had to deal with any of the reported mail app migration bugs and issues at all through years of OSX/MacOS upgrades up to High Sierra.

I'm a program manager who spends a lot of time sending and reading emails. I've user Outlook 2016 for Mac since first public preview. And before I always used Outlook for Windows. After a year I switched to using Mail.app (which I never used before). It has been about a year and I'm still use Mail.app. I just cannot stand Outlook any more. What I find that Mail.app made me more productive. It lags some functions that Outlook has, but I find it that in this case, less is more. I use MailTags plug-in together with Mail.app.

I do have Outlook still installed on my Mac. The only reason I'm keeping it for is to create Calendar invites with WebEx meeting inside.

Really? God, Mail is awful in the corporate world where everyone else uses M$ Office.

I have used Outlook for years on the Windows platform, setup exchange servers and business client PC without problem. I still have Outlook on my Dell laptop (which I rarely use now), but use Apple's mail app on the iMac. I have an Office subscription for the iMac, mainly for Excel which works great on the Mac, but I could not setup Outlook the way I wanted. Since I run my own email servers, I have several email addresses for various situations (online purchases, subscriptions, personal, business). On the PC, Outlook clearly delineates between each email address, setting up a complete account for each with independent folders for Inbox, Sent, etc. On the Mac version of Outlook I setup accounts for each email, but Outlook just put all the messages into the same inbox folder. I could have written rules to handle in coming messages, but that seemed clumsy, so I dumped Outlook on the Mac.

Outlook 2016 = many features from Win Version are missing. Not well programmed :(

do have several "sent mail folders", but only the original "sent mail folders" can show "receivers mail adresses" like it should.

Hey. How can I change a subfolder under „sent objects“ that it shows the recipient names instead of my own name (sender name) > only works for orig. sent folder :(

Another one:
It's not possible to define different views for different folders. Some folders I want to have with a reading pane - another ones I don't.

With Outlook for Win since decades never be a problem. With Outlook for Mac not possible (even with 2016)!

Cannot understand how someone can call this app as a business app?
