Hi all,

I have a GMail account and a school e-mail account which is synced through the aforementioned GMail account. Therefore, when i sync my computer i want my computer to only sync with my Gmail account. However, since clinical professors and other faculty only respond to addresses ending in @XXX.edu, i want to be able to send from mail.app

In summary, is there a way to set up an account to SEND mail only, but NOT RECEIVE within the mail.app program?

Thanks.

Not sure if this would work, but go to Mail-->Preferences, select the appropriate account on the left, then under the "Account Information" tab, delete the details in the "Incoming Mail Server" fields, but keep the info in the "Outgoing Mail Server" field.

I'll give this a shot. if it doesn't work, no big deal. i just have some "behaviors" set on my Gmail account to automatically archive or move some e-mails to different folders, and i hate seeing the badge on my deck, only to look and see it was something unimportant.

thank you for your reply! really appreciate it.
