I have 2 emails in my inbox that I can't get rid of. I move them into a folder and they grey out but they never move or delete. How can I get rid of them?

Hey I had this exact problem a few weeks ago, bothered me to no end and it the solution is so simple that when I read it I thought "it can't be that easy" but it is.
Highlight the offending messages and command+x them, you cut them out and they are gone.
