I tried to send a video file that is too big for AOL mail via my mac mail set up.
Now in the sending area the wheel just keeps spinning. How can I resolve this problem?

The mail is not in draft or out box and doesn't show up in the sent box....just spinning and spinning and it's slowed everything down. Any simple advice appreciated. thank you.

What email account are you using in Mail? Make sure the attachment isn't larger than that account allows.

Force quit Mail.

If the attachment is too large to send via your email, you could use drop box and send a link to the file to the person who needs to receive it.

Sent mail wheel keeps spinning.

Made the mistake of trying to send to large a video attachment via my mail account AOL.
Now the sent mail wheel keeps spinning, mail is slow and so is entire macbook.

Mail is not in drafts, or sent or outbox; so it must be in endless loop in the sent box. I have to force quit mail to shut it down. When I restart it starts looping again.

Any "simple" solutions for this? I've logged out, shut down, disconnected from internet all to no avail.

Thanks for any help.

Have forced quit but on restart still spinning. File was too large for mail. I'm using AOL via my mac mail (i guess--not too savvy :( )

I am also not getting mail sent to my address. I've tested it from a Yahoo account I have.

Should I time machine to yesterday? Would this help?

If you can't send an attachment via AOL, then you can't send it via AOL using Apple Mail. It's the same account with the same limitations.

It would probably help.

Try disconnecting from the internet. If you are lucky it will fail and end up in your outbox where you can delete it. If that does not work look in ~user/library/mail/account name for a drafts folder and delete it.
