Hello All,

I want to remove and email account from my Mail app. I have multiple email accounts and one paid IMAP Hushmail expired and I do not know the password (forgot it). So, I would like to remove it.

I have always downloaded the email messages and not kept them on the server.

I have always MOVED not copied important emails to Mail Folders on the ON MY MAC.

If I Remove/Delete that account will I lose my emails in those Mail folders in the ON MY MAC location?

Or just the Inbox and Sent files in the Smart Mailbox area?

Thanks!

PT

No you won't, but if you want to be on the safe side you should click mailbox in the menu and then click archive mailbox. This will create an archive of your messages tha tyou'll be able to access irrespective of what accounts you have set up.

Hope this helps!

Mail

The simplest way to back up your Mail

Home Folder -Library-Mail ----Copy that mail folder and paste it onto a external HDD or anywhere

And then u can delete ur account .......
