Hey guys.

I've been having this problem since yesterday.

Mail keeps giving me the message:

"Mail can't connect to the account
"xxxxxx@att.net"

"Enter the password for user "xxxxx@att.net""

I have 8 different email accounts and they are all giving me the same message.

They are all IMAP accounts that have been working fine for 2+ months other than an occasional hiccup where I'd get that message for an account or two but relaunching mail 5 minutes or a few hours later it would be fine.

I keep entering the passwords (auto enter) and problem persists. Also ran keychain verification and there are no problems there.

Any ideas?

I've experienced something similar with bt and sky accounts who both use yahoo to provide email. Accessing them at the same time via outlook or mail causes the same issue you have. Although accessing each account individually and waiting a few minutes works.

I can also replicate this by logging into each account in separate browser windows.

An anti spam feature or something like that perhaps? Bloody annoying though!

Update...

Ok, not sure if the fix is permanent but after they (AT&T tech support) couldn't help me last night and told me to call back today and talk to the "Mac Specialist", here's what I did.

Accessed one of my accounts through the AT&T website (not knowing this would change anything).

Then, this morning I started Mail and noticed that all accounts were still not working except the one I had accessed through their website last night.

Hmmm, ok lets try accessing each account via the web and then try launching mail. Well, that did it.

If anyone has this issue, then I'd try what I did. Hopefully the problem doesn't come back tomorrow.
