I have just spent hours looking for a clear answer on how to autosave attachments to a designated folder using Apple Mail, but despite much pain with AppleScript and Automator, I have had no luck.
Is there an alternative to Mail that can do this 'out of the box'?
Many thanks

Kind of a narrow use case, but if the email is Gmail and the folder is on Dropbox, you could use ifttt.com for that. I have kind of the opposite set up, when a log file appears in a Dropbox folder I use IFTTT to email it out as an attachment via Gmail.

Many thanks - I haven't been able to find any suitable email client (it seems aratherodd to me that this feature sin't widely available) and have indeed found a workaround by using a shared folder on dropbox.

Best wishes
