Hey guys how do i delete mail from the mail cmd, the cmd u get in terminal not the app called mail

hey ive tried that by typing the following

mail
1
d
exit

it still doesnt delete the email when i go back into mail, ive also tried d 1
 
try:

mail
q
mail
d 1
q

For some reason you cannot delete a message with status N but you can with status U?

Edit: easier:
mail
pre 1
d 1
q
