So I use contact photos for emails because it helps me quickly identify an email in Mail.

I have these photos for PayPal and services like that as well. So it means I have a contact for PayPal in Contacts, where I added the PayPal logo.

I'm wondering if any of you guys use contact photos in Mail and how you handle it. I don't want to have these companies etc. (or some people) in my contacts, but I think there's no other way to add contact photos in Mail.

There's also people I rarely contact or never contact, from a specific institution for example. So I have a contact for that institution with its logo, and all email addresses from people I know from there in that contact. This way I just add their email to the existing contact and I instantly see the institutions' logo where I receive their emails.

But it's all not really a clean solution. It does help filtering mails very quickly. Apple should expand the contact photos feature in mail and make it separate from Contacts. The feature could even recognise who is mailing you and adding a logo on its own. Seeing the other sides' photo is standard today in other services (imagine you're writing with Nike or BMW support on Facebook, you'd obviously see their photo in your messenger). So e-mail as a technology should (or will have to) keep up I believe and introduce such features.

I have a separate internet account with only contacts (and pictures/logos) synced for such contacts. It keeps them apart from my main contacts and I can ignore them in the Contacts apps (iOS/macOS).
