Hi.

My mail and mailboxes have all disappeared from mail.app on my macbook.

The files are there in library/mail/ and I have backed them up.

What I did/noticed was:

0. Nothing different to usual - just a regular evening working

1. Tried to send a mail and was prompted for my me.com smpt@me password

(this hasn't happened for a while - I went to find it )

at this stage my mail was all there

2. tried to send mail again - same prompt - entered password - whoosh sound - mail sent

3. returned to macbook a few moments later to see all mail gone ad all mailboxes empty

4. Rebuild mailbox option is greyed out

5. Coincidentally sync started and gave me a warning that I needed ti enter my mobile me password for it to continue

(again this has never happened before)

Question - so what is going on ? Do I need to re-install mail.app or is there a less drastic solution ?

One other (maybe useful) bit of info..

.For a few weeks now mail sent from my mac book has not been syncing via mobileme with my imac (i.e I can't see mail sent from my macbook on my imac)

But not vice versa (and all other mailboxes sync just fine)...

It all feels a bit fragile my friends - any help or guidance will be very much appreciated

Stephen
