Mail doesn't seem to be picing up junk mail

Hi,

I've set up my .Mac account in Mail, and recently I've been getting lots of junk mail and spam which I do no means want. When this stuff usually arrives, I drag it into the Junk Mail folder, but recently, I've been getting upwards of 20 pieces of junk a day and its beginning to become a tedious task. What is the best way to set up mail so this junk doesn't even get into my Inbox and goes straight to the Junk folder?
