Mail Drop bug in Mail app?

I have been trying to use the new Mail Drop feature on my 6 plus. However, after I select to send the file (a zip around 350 MB) via Mail Drop and hit send the Mail app crashes out and the file and email are not sent. I am on wifi and have even tried to send the zip once it has been downloaded locally to the iCloud drive app but still no joy. I have even tried turning the iPhone off and doing a hard reset but no change. I have searched the forums but haven't seen this issue mentioned. Any suggestions??
 
Even tried restoring from an iCloud backup, when the backup eventually downloaded (it would not complete the first four times) still no change...
