Mail error message on reinstalling application

Lost Mail application probably possibly while clearing unwanted desktop folders.
Reinstalled Mail, Address Book and Ical using supplied startup disk but get following error message, "You cannot use this version of the application mail with this version of Mac OS X"
Running Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 on Macbook purchased 2008 and I used the supplied disc 1 to re-install Mail

Since writing this I established it is a genuine problem and I located the resolution in CNET MacFix It
