Mail error msg

On my MBP when I try to send or forward a msg I get the error msg " cannot send from this smtp server. I have tried to delete and reinstall mail to no avail. I a using AOL pushed to apple mail. If i go directly to AOL it works, it also works fine from my IMac. Any Ideas? Thanks
