Mail help : disable secure password

Hi, my work imap email account requires me to use SSL but not a secure password. I have tried everything but can't get it to work in Mail, I can use thunderbird but de-selecting 'use secure authentication', or entourage by choosing not to use a 'secure password'. Where is the equivalent option for Mail?

Or do I have to switch over to either thunderbird or entourage? If so, which one do you guys recommend?
