I am on the latest version of Tiger on a 1 Gz TiPb.

Up until today everything has been fine. No system changes made today.

I have 2 user accounts. Both use a different gmail email account through Apple Mail.

One of the accounts is all of a sudden rejecting the password in Mail. It accepts in when I login through Safari. The other account works fine in Apple Mail.

I have rebuilt the Mail account, deleted preferences and entered all incoming/outgoing server info again. I am confident all this information is correct.
I also repaired permissions.

Any ideas? Frisco is lost tonight.

Well, you used up all of my advice except for these last suggestions:
  • Try changing the password via Safari, and use that new password in Mail.
  • Try creating a new user account and enter the info in there just to verify that it isn't gmail-side weirdness.

I tried changing the password via Safari and Mail rejects it. I made the appropriate changes in Mail's preferences.

I didn't try creating a new user account yet.

It is definitely a problem with Gmail.

I entered a different gmail account in Mail and it worked fine. Then it wouldn't let me login (the problem account) through the web.

So I guess the only thing I can do is wait.
