MAIL HELP

I would love to send photos directly from iphoto to my friends and family but i don't know how to set up my mail.Do you need a mac.com address or can i use yahoo or hotmail.

You just need to setup Mail to send and receive mail. You can use any non-web based mail account. You can use a web mail account that provides imap/smtp or something else that mail can talk. This pretty much rules out free Yahoo accounts and maybe Hotmail too.

You don't need a .Mac account to use Mail. You can add a Hotmail plug-in to use Hotmail, but I don't know about Yahoo!. You can find it at www.versiontracker.com and search for httpmail. Make sure to follow the instructions.

I downloaded httpmail but when i click on installer and it just says installing and thats it,it stays that way without installing anything.
whats going on.
