Mail - how can I send jpegs at original size?

Using Mail I have sent some attached jpeg images to a colleague and he says all my images have been reduced in size for use on the web and not for printing. How can I change this please to keep the original pixel size and not have them downsized? These jpeg's are approx 1mb each but need to keep the resolution.

In the Mail message make sure you have Actual Size selected in this drop down.
