Looking for some way to prevent this annoying junk/clutter at bottom of page - screenshots: iCab Cluttered with Clippings.pngMail Cluttered with Clippings .png

Swipe the windows up to close them.
Thanks, pretty much already know that, but is there any way to prevent them from appearing in the first place? Something in Settings? (have looked but might have missed it)?

Really want to find a way to stop this crap from appearing everywhere.

Don’t have the latest iPadOS but I think windows happen when you use activate split screen or split over.

If you want to close the extra windows, close them like you close multitasking apps.

Small miracle: by chance decided to use the App Switcher to close all open applications, etc. (with home button used to just double click on open app or whatever to close.) Most likely won't last for very long, but seeing no more "extra windows"/"clippings" (not sure what the official term is).

On this iPad Air with no home button, was able to do this in two possible ways: first, from the virtual home button via accessibility (screenshot below).

Or, from Apple: "On all iPad models: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, pause in the center of the screen, then lift your finger." https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/switch-between-apps-ipad619935ea/18.0/ipados/18.0

EDIT/UPDATE Next day, surprisingly still OK. Maybe clippings/extra windows gone for good, ancient history?? Originated perhaps from old iPad iTunes backup?

Correct, that’s how we close windows. You can open new ones too if you want.
