mail icon changing slightly through major updates

as anybody else noticed the mail icon changing slightly in major updates?

i know this is a small cosmetic thing, but still interesting. when tiger came out i noticed the bird on the icon was rotated slightly to the right, and again on that leopard preview, it did seem like it was rotated a bit more! haha! is the icon designer consistantly unhappy about the position of the bird! haha!

Wow, that's some keen observation. Kinda makes you wonder why they changed it though... I blame the marketing department. Everything's always their fault.

i noticed the change between panther and tiger... and when i was watching wwdc06 i thought out of curiousity to take a peek and compare with the one on my dock...

is the bird going to end up upside down! haha!

I bet Jobs creates the Mail icons, sketching them out first on a nice big canvas with a piece of charcoal as his only tool.
