Mail IMAP crashes

I'm getting a crash in Mail that I haven't seen described elsewhere.

I have numerous IMAP accounts and one Exchange account.

It only occurs overnight, not during any extended sessions during the day. The computer is set to never sleep (2010 iMac).

I get this message in the crash log:

reason: 'Cannot remove an observer <IMAPConnectionPool 0x7f9e38e686b0> for the key path "isDisconnected" from <IMAPConnection 0x7f9e3b9ae560> because it is not registered as an observer.'

Any ideas?
