Just upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks.

In Mail, when I clicked on the "get mail" button I used to see a spinning wheel next to each account name, indicating that Mail was checking that account.

Now in Mavericks that indicator doesn't exist, so I'm never sure if it's checking or whether maybe I haven't clicked the button properly. So I find myself clicking repeatedly just to make sure, and it's bl00dy annoying.

Is there any way to get the indicator to display?

Thanks in advance for advice.

I think that particular indicator hasn't existed since Lion, actually. I use the Activity Window for this purpose and just keep it open all the time.

Wow, in over 10 years of using OS X I've never known of the existence of the Activity window - thanks for that!
