Mail is showing old emails for new emails???

When i get a new email in Mail the Subject and who its from is new but when i open it, it shows me one of my older emails, but when I go online it shows the new email so it must be something wrong with mail itself.
I've tried updating mail to no avail, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this as it is very irritating to have to not be able to read it through mail.

What kind of email account? POP, IMAP, MobileMe?
Try Mailbox --> Rebuild to fix problems with existing emails.

Thanks that rebuild Fixed it perfect, The mail was Mobile Me dunno how it went wrong but fixed know thanks.
