Hi guys,
Really want to fix this issue once and for all but not sure what I should do.
I currently host my emails for my family domain with Office 365, but you all probably know Mail.app is a little sluggish in syncing over EWS, hence I am considering moving to an IMAP provider (like Fastmail - whom I used before), as IMAP works better on Mail.app because of IDLE enabled.
However, the main issue seems to be that I can't have Push on my iOS devices (using IMAP), and I don't want to fetch every 15 minutes as this will drain battery. I also don't need Activesync/Exchange as iCloud can handle contacts, calendars, notes, reminders etc, thus I use Exchange for mail only. I hate the fact that EAS doesn't sync drafts too, (IMAP does) but apart from iCloud / Yahoo on iOS they (EAS accounts) seem to be the only Push options available.
Maybe I can stick it out with Exchange for the time being, should IMAP IDLE becoming to iOS devices soon? What are your suggestions? I'm at my wits end. I tried Rackspace out but they haven't got XLIST enabled and they say it's on the bug list but not urgent. (That's OK - I can map Sent, Drafts, Trash etc on Mail.app). I then tried to enable their mobile sync which costs $1 a month which gives Activesync but the syncing is painfully slow potentially because they have two platforms enabled. Also, ALL subfolders are a subset of Inbox on Activesync devices and this can't be changed.
Thanks,
Zain
