So this morning I got up early and was checking email... I had upgraded to Lion on a Mac pro (2006) and I have 6 email accounts running in Mail and they are from me.com(3 of them), comcast, gmail and the school I work for.

They were all off line and continually asking for Passwords... over and over. This seems to be something that has happened to many. I thought maybe my ISP had issues... comcast has that from time to time... but it didn't clear up during the day.
I then came home and tried again, to no avail. I looked online and found unexpected help right on the Apple Website....

http://www.apple.com/support/macosx/mailassistant/

This was really sweet and it totally helped me figure out perfectly what to put in every field. I have heard that since Lion/iCloud that things have tightened up on what goes where for mail settings... as an example, the iCloud of my personal acct didn't like my password, even though I was able to login in to iCloud on a Browser (Safari). So I decided to just change the password and see if that helped... now they want more security for the passwords so you need Capital letter, small letter, and number combo.... Once I did that it also began syncing.
The iCloud thing has been 2x worse than the dot mac > mobile me that I dealt with daily as a mac Genius. I can only imagine what they are dealing with at the stores.
I thought I would pass this along...
Cheers to all from lovely York PA
