I am considering switching from MS to Apple Mail but I can not seem to find a way around displaying if a particular mail has an attechment associated with it in the mail list via a paperclip icon or culum heading..

I can create a mail rule and add a new header a search for the text in the attachment header but this seems far too clumsy a solution..

Any have any suggestions..?

Control-click in the list of messages, a contexual menu called "Columns" will be listed at the bottom the resulting menu, and one of the choices is Attachments. Choose it, and it will add a column with a little paperclip beside all messages with attachments.

Thanks for the question, I had never even thought about it before, but it could be a really nice feature for me.
