mail merge, excel 2011 and mac mail

ive tried and do research but all i come across is old apps that are no longer supported.

anybody have an updated method to mail merge by pulling data from excel and using mac mail to send it?

back on the pc days i used excel and outlook, just want to see if this is possible with mac mail as i cannot use outlook.
