A while ago ,for no apparent reason, Mail started up and showed only one Mailbox with a couple of hundred mails. Normally, it should show 10 different accounts and thousands of mails. When I look at the Mail folder in the Library, I can still see the folders for all the Accounts (POP) and the total size of the Mail folder is more the 6GB. The rebuild command obviously does not work, as the mailboxes disappeared in the navigation. I removed the file Envelope Index from the Mail folder. The file was rebuilt, but still I only have one Mailbox (.mac). Is there another file I could delete/rebuild that stores information about the Mailboxes?
Unfortunately its not my MacBookPro and the time machine backup did not run for a long time :-( Any other suggestions?
The problem started in Leopard. I tried if an upgrade to Snow Leopard would fix the problem, but it didnt.
Thanks,
