Mail, MSN and Adium dont work over wireless

Mail, MSN and Adium dont work over the wireless network from the iMac upstairs. We have internet sharing on from ethernet on the iMac and through Airport. They all work when i have the ethernet cable plugged in and on the wireless at my school...
any help would be appreciated
