i cant tell if it was the os x update, or gmail's failings the other day, but i can recieve... but not send any mail via apple mail... anyone got any troubleshooting advice?

I've had this same problem. I even deleted my gmail account in mail and reset it up...didnt work. I switched my settings from imap to pop and it all works fine now...but its annoying!!!
