Have noticed recently that my Mail is not pushing properly. I just opened my email and I newly received 2 emails from 8:50 over two hours ago. I have been using the phone off and on during this time, in fact about 10 mins in the App store for 10 mins prior surfing around.

Have it setup to my yahoo account, but it only refreshes when I actively open my mail.

What am I missing here?

Joe

My husband is having this problem too. It seems if he turns the phone off for a minute then turns it back on they come flooding in. It's a small PITA, of course, but it works for him.

I agree not the end of the world but just annoys me. I wonder if it is a yahoo issue. Is the same thing happening on the Gmail accounts. I have an email there too, so I could shift to that address for daily use.

This happens to me occasionally, too. Sometimes restarting works. Sometimes toggling Airplane Mode works. Sometimes, deleting the account and setting it up again works. Several times, none of those things have worked, so I think it is just something with Yahoo that is at fault and we just have to wait.

It is annoying when my wife's iPhone gets Yahoo mail pushed while mine doesn't, but I don't know if that is meaningful.

Push doesn't seem to work with Gmail if you set it up as Gmail.

It does work if you set up Gmail as an Exchange though

And how does one go about doing this?

Edit: Never mind, I should of used google like someone with half a brain would. Thank you for the idea though :)

It does work...but then it stops. I had to do this and it was fine for a few days and now it stopped again. I think it has more to do with Gmail than it does the phone, at least that's what I've read.

Mail has a bunch of problems to begin with for me.

Is setting up exchange an option for Yahoo mail? If so what are the server specs?
