Can somebody help me with this query. I have looked all over but have not found an answer.

My iPhone used to remain 100% in sync with my mail server so that mails would appear on my phone until such time as I downloaded them on my laptop. At that point, all mails were automatically removed from the phone so that it was always a mirror of what was on the server.

I recently had some issues with sending mails so I removed and reinput my mail account. That solved the sending issue but now, all mail remains on my phone, even after I have removed it from the server.

There is probably a simple answer to this but how do I get back to where I was?

Don't think that's it. I don't have archiving as an option.

Isn't that only for accounts such as GMail etc. ?

Maybe you did your email account as pop3 instead of imap? Only thing I can think of.
