Mail not showing unread msgs count

I am running Lion 10.8.2 on my brand new Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15".

Whenever I get an email, Mail doesnt play the sound of a new message and doesn't show the unread mail badge.

I changed the option to show "only inbox" badges and "all inboxes".
None has worked =/

Any idea?

Problem solved:

Preferences Pane -> Notifications -> Mail -> Badge App Icon.
