Used migration assistant from G4 to imac.(hindsight perspective)

Since that auspicious day I've been unable to open Mail from the dock. It did work prior to this migration.

Have spoken with every comcast tech person (well almost)... My preferences are set correctly...other than the fact I do not have the options button at the bottom of Accounts Information, which they have in their documentation.

Also reinstalled Leopard...no change.

So, I have decided there must be documents/files/applications on HD/Mail which were brought over, and which I must trash.

Just compared both G4 and imac HD, and there are lots of duplicates...some going beck to 1995!

Should I trash all the duplicates, or be a bit more conservative?

Any help appreciated.
