Mail notification issue

i have iphone 6 with iOS8. Since yesterday on my ipad (ios7) i receive notification that i have new mail but on my iphone i have to enter into Mail app and after that i receive the new mail...what can be the cause?

i don't understand
on my ipad when i receive a new mail a little sound is heard and a bubble with number 1 for example appear ....on my iphone 6 with ios8 nothing unless i open the mail app

The issue I've been having with all 3 of my mail accounts iCloud, Yahoo, and Exchange is the mail app badge shows let's say 3 emails waiting, if I delete them from another device the badge continues to say 3 until I open the mail app. Then they update and the badge goes away, but not until I open the app. Was not like this before.
