Mail notification

Hi all,

Is it possible when you get a new mail for a pop box to quickly give you a notification of what it is? I had a quick search and can't find it. I think Outlook does something like what I am looking for

I'm pretty sure growl works for mail. Its a handy little app that works with many programs.
