Mail on Yosemite not synching with Yahoo!

I have about 15-yrs of Yahoo email that I want to sort into folders and I just downloaded the email into Mail in Yosemite.

1. I dragged emails in Mail into folders, though that does not seem to update in Yahoo! web mail

2. I I place emails into folders in Yahoo! webmail, though that does not seem to update in Mail.

3. There is also a Yahoo synchronize option available in the menu options that I have clicked on though I am not sure what that is doing.

What is going on?

Sounds like a local problem. Yahoo! Mail works fine Yosemite Mail here.

What happens to the emails, attachments etc. if I disconnect the account and set it back up? I'm guessing that removing all account details and rentering them might resolve the problem when it tries to synch again. What if I want to make sure all emails are wiped from my drive. Where are these saved?
