Mail opens when I have an iCal reminder

The title says it all. The Mail app opens when ever I get an iCal reminder pop-up. Any ideas of why?

click on ical-->preferences-->advanced-->uncheck the box that says
"Automatically retrieve invitations from mail"

For some reason, it started happening again. Any ideas?

You probably have an event alarm type of 'Email'

When iCal fires an Email alarm, it uses Mail.app to send it.
