mail question

Using mac mail, I have set up some smart mailboxes to help organize my mail. I would like the mail to remain in my smart mailboxes after I have deleted them from my regular mailbox. Is this possible, does anyone know how to set this up?

Not possible.

As an alternative, you might make some new [regular] mailboxes and then use rules to automatically move (or copy) messages there upon arrival.
