Using a 2019 MacBook Pro with latest Tahoe updates. Is there a way to receive mail notifications (i.e. number of messages) without the mail application actually being open?
My A16 iPad is using iPadOS 26 and the mail app on the iPad will provide a notification of new mail messages without the mail application being open.
I have all mail notifications turned on with the MacBook - and have tried selecting every option under "unread count" and "new message notifications" under the Tahoe mail application - but Mail still only indicates a new message when actually opening the application.
Is there a setting I'm missing? Thanks.
