I have a 3G with software up to date.

Under Settings I have "Fetch New Data" OFF. If I want to send a quick email I open up Mail & it automatically goes out to grab mail from my server.

I would rather not have it get new mail when I open up the Mail App. All I want to do is send a quick email. Is there a way to turn this off OR stop the download while it is connecting to my mail server?
