Mail saving drafts non stop

Why is the apple mail saving drafts every 30 seconds?!?

I know I can turn this off in the setting under mail behavior but this then prevents me from storing a draft on my server and continuing later on via a different device.

Is there a way to prevent drafts being stores every 30 seconds?
