This is really strange.

I'm running leopard mail and use my gmail with it

I went looking for an email I sent a friend earlier this week, I typed in his email in he spotlight search thing in the top right, and the email came up about 12 times (ten of which were in the folder trash, the other two were in gmail sent and gmail all)... i scrolled through and the emails looked like this:

1) Hey Marc,

2) Hey Marc, first let me

3) Hey Marc, fist let me tell you how great it was etc...

Does this mean the email was sent 10 times getting longer each time?

Why is it saved like this?

Should I be worried that my friend recieved 10 emails from me?

I would ask but he's more of a possible future employer rather than a friend, hence my nervousness.

No, your email was (most likely) not sent more than once, or incomplete.

I can't answer you why, but keep in mind different email providers handle their POP and IMAP systems differently, and Mail.app may not be perfect in handling every one every time. For what it's worth, I've had similar experiences with Mail.app and my AOL account (plus a few other "bugs" too).
