I am trying to help a senior with an iPhone X running iOS 16 and a 2015 iMac running Monterey.

She has Mail properly set up on both her devices; she has the right boxes checked on both devices to enable syncing of her Mail.

Both her account are IMAP.

Nonetheless, if on her computer she deletes an email from from the Inbox of either account, it does not delete from the iPhone.

To the contrary when on her iPhone she deletes an email from from the Inbox of either account, it does delete from the iMac.

We have started and restarted Mail on both devices multiple times, but no joy.

Can anyone suggest ways to troubleshoot this problem, setting we might experiment with changing, etc.?
