iPhone Mail turn off swipe to mark as unread

Hi all

In iOS 13 when I open an email and then swipe from left to right to go back instead of going back to the inbox I get something that marks the email as unread. I then have to tap ‘inbox’ to go back there.

Any idea how to turn this off so the normal back gesture actually goes back?

Have you checked Settings > Mail > Swipe Options?

That said, the trick is to start the swipe all the way at the edge for it to treat it as a back swipe instead of a swipe within the app itself.
