Mail: Unable to connect to POP server

Hello,

I am going to be based at a clients all of this week and have hooked up my Powerbook to their network.

I am able to connect to the internet just fine, but Mail will not connect to the POP servers for either my work mail or my gmail accounts.

Does anybody know what I could do to rectify this or what I should be looking out for in the settings? I have tried connection doctor, to no avail.

Access is most likely restricted by a firewall. Ask their Admin people if they will allow you access to your mail server and to Gmail.

Rats, I was hoping it wouldn't be that Unfortunately this is a large organisation with a very small and hard to reach IT Department based in another part of town.
